About JoinNorth

JoinNorth provides a platform for discovering and publishing job opportunities, creating candidate profiles, saving jobs and searches, receiving job alerts and connecting candidates with employers and recruiters.

Some opportunities are submitted directly to JoinNorth. Others may be collected, organized or presented from publicly available employer or recruiter career pages and other public sources. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain and protect personal information when you use JoinNorth.it and related services.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use JoinNorth, we may collect:

• Account information, including your name, email address, optional phone number, account type, password hash, preferences and settings.
• Candidate information, including work history, education, skills, languages, certifications, job preferences, location, salary expectations, portfolio links, CVs, application materials and other information you choose to provide.
• Employer and recruiter information, including organization and business contact details, representatives, job listings, recruitment activity, candidate interactions and account or billing information if paid services are introduced.
• Applications and Service activity, including applications, saved jobs and searches, alerts, profile visibility settings, interactions, support requests, reports and moderation requests.
• Publicly available job information, including title, employer name, location, description, employment type, published salary information, application URL and public business contact information.
• Technical information, including IP address, browser, device and operating system information, language settings, pages viewed, actions, referring pages, timestamps, security and diagnostic information, cookies and similar technologies.

Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal information in your profile or CV.

How we collect and use information

We may collect information directly from you, from employers and recruiters, from public sources, automatically when you use the Service, and from providers acting on our behalf.

We may use personal information to:

• Create and operate accounts, job search and candidate search features.
• Display profiles according to selected visibility settings, publish and organize opportunities, and process or facilitate applications.
• Provide saved jobs, saved searches, requested alerts, account communications and support.
• Detect fraud, spam, abuse and security threats; moderate content; and enforce these Terms.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and improve the Service, search and relevance; meet legal obligations; and establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

We limit collection, use and disclosure to purposes reasonable in the circumstances. Where consent is required, we seek appropriate consent and give further notice or request consent before using information for a materially different purpose where required by law.

Candidate profiles, applications and public jobs

Candidate profile information may be visible to employers, recruiters or other users according to the settings and features you select. Information you make public may be accessible without an account and indexed by search engines. Do not make public information you do not want publicly accessible.

Changing or deleting public information may not immediately remove copies indexed, cached or stored by third parties such as search engines. When you apply through JoinNorth, we may provide submitted information and documents to the relevant employer or recruiter, which then handles that information under its own practices and legal obligations.

Some listings direct you to external websites; information provided there is governed by the third party's policies and terms. We do not control their privacy or security practices. Some jobs displayed on JoinNorth originate from public employer or recruiter sites. We may organize, categorize, format or summarize those listings to improve discovery, but the original employer or recruiter remains responsible for the posting and recruitment process.

Job information may change, expire or be removed without notice. Employers or authorized representatives can request correction or removal of an inaccurate listing by contacting hello@joinnorth.it.

Automated tools and sharing

JoinNorth may use automated systems or artificial intelligence tools to categorize listings, extract job attributes, improve search and relevance, detect duplicate listings, and identify spam or potentially harmful content. JoinNorth does not make hiring decisions on behalf of employers unless this is expressly disclosed for a specific feature.

We may share personal information with an employer or recruiter when you choose to apply or share information, with providers who help us operate JoinNorth, when required or permitted by law, to investigate fraud or security incidents, protect users or legal rights, or in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring or sale subject to appropriate safeguards.

Providers may support hosting, infrastructure, databases, email delivery, security, analytics, customer support, error monitoring and technical operations. They may process information only for authorized purposes and with appropriate safeguards. JoinNorth does not sell personal information.

Processing, cookies, communications, retention and security

Personal information may be stored or processed in Canada or other countries where JoinNorth or our providers operate. It may therefore be subject to local laws and accessible to courts, law enforcement or authorities where legally required. We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, sessions, language and interface preferences, settings, Service functionality, analytics and performance measurement. Where consent is required for non-essential technologies, we will request it before activation. Blocking necessary cookies in your browser can affect functionality.

We may send necessary service communications, including verification, sign-in and security notices, password resets, account and application notices, and job alerts you request. We do not send unsolicited advertising or promotional email. Optional alerts may be disabled in account settings or through an unsubscribe mechanism.

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain accounts, fulfil this Notice, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations or defend legal rights. We may delete, destroy or anonymize information when it is no longer needed. Some information may remain in backups or be retained for legal, security or fraud-prevention reasons.

We use reasonable administrative, organizational and technical safeguards, including access and authentication controls, encryption where appropriate, logging, monitoring, backups, security updates and restricted access. No online service is completely secure. We assess incidents and make legally required breach reports or notifications.

Your privacy rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Request access to, correction of, or information about the use and disclosure of personal information we hold about you.
• Withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, subject to applicable legal or contractual restrictions.
• Request deletion where applicable, or make a complaint about our handling of your information.

To make a request, email hello@joinnorth.it with the subject Privacy Request. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity. Rights may be subject to legal exceptions.

Where Québec private-sector privacy law applies, residents may have additional rights, including access and correction, consent withdrawal, certain data portability, and qualifying requests concerning dissemination, de-indexing, re-indexing or automated decision-making. For complaints, contact us first at hello@joinnorth.it. Depending on your location, you may also contact the appropriate privacy regulator, including the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, or the privacy commissioners of British Columbia or Alberta.

JoinNorth is not directed to children under 14. If you believe a child has provided information contrary to applicable law, contact hello@joinnorth.it. We may update this Notice when the Service, our practices, features or legal requirements change. Material changes will receive any additional notice or consent required by law.

Acceptance and what JoinNorth does

These Terms govern your use of JoinNorth.it and related services operated by Vsevolod Lomov. By accessing or using JoinNorth, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Service.

JoinNorth is a technology platform that helps people discover job opportunities and allows candidates, employers and recruiters to interact. Unless expressly stated otherwise, JoinNorth is not the employer, the recruiter responsible for a particular vacancy, an employment agency for a particular employer, or a party to an employment agreement. We do not make hiring decisions on behalf of employers unless a feature expressly says so.

Accounts and job listings

You must provide accurate information, keep login credentials confidential, remain responsible for account activity and keep account information reasonably current. Notify us if you believe your account has been compromised. You may not impersonate a person, employer or organization or use information without authorization.

Candidates are responsible for the accuracy of their profiles, CVs, applications, employment history, qualifications and other submitted materials. Creating a profile or applying does not guarantee employment, an interview or a response.

Employers and recruiters must have authority to represent their organization, provide accurate information, post genuine opportunities, comply with employment, privacy, human rights and anti-discrimination laws, and use candidate information only for legitimate recruitment purposes. Candidate information must not be sold, brokered or used for unrelated marketing.

Listings may be submitted directly or collected from public employer or recruiter sources. We do not guarantee that every listing is complete, accurate, current, legitimate or still available. Users should independently verify material information. An application does not guarantee review, a response, interview, offer or employment.

External websites and user content

JoinNorth may link to third-party services. We do not control or take responsibility for their content, availability, accuracy, security, privacy practices or terms. Their own policies govern your use.

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant JoinNorth a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, process and display it as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, improve, protect and secure the Service, and to make it available under your chosen visibility settings.

The licence ends when content is deleted from active systems, except where retention is reasonably necessary for backups, legal obligations, fraud prevention, security or disputes. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit your content.

Acceptable use

You must not use JoinNorth to:

• Publish fraudulent, deceptive, misleading, unlawful, discriminatory, abusive or harmful content or listings.
• Create fake profiles, impersonate a person or organization, misuse candidate information, or collect information for unrelated purposes.
• Send spam or unauthorized marketing; sell or broker information obtained through the Service.
• Distribute malware, seek unauthorized access, bypass controls, interfere with or deliberately disrupt the Service.
• Scrape, crawl or systematically extract data without permission, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
• Use automated systems in a way that unreasonably burdens the Service, or violate applicable law or another person’s rights.

Fraud, safety and enforcement

Independently verify employers, recruiters, candidates and jobs before providing sensitive information or entering agreements. Be especially cautious about requests to send money, buy equipment from an unknown party, transfer cryptocurrency, cash or forward cheques, disclose passwords, provide banking credentials or unnecessary government identification. Report suspicious accounts or listings to hello@joinnorth.it.

We may review, restrict, suspend or remove content or accounts as reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, prevent fraud or abuse, address complaints or security risks, meet legal obligations, or protect JoinNorth and third-party rights. We may act without advance notice when immediate action is reasonably necessary.

Intellectual property, availability and no guarantee

The JoinNorth name, branding, software, interface, original content and other materials created by JoinNorth may be protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of our intellectual property. Third-party names, trademarks, logos and materials remain the property of their respective owners; a listing does not mean a company sponsors, endorses or has a commercial relationship with JoinNorth.

We may add or modify features, perform maintenance, suspend parts of the Service or discontinue features. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure or error-free availability. JoinNorth does not guarantee employment, interviews, offers, responses, successful recruitment, the identity or reliability of every user, listing accuracy or any particular employment outcome.

Disclaimer, liability, termination and governing law

To the extent permitted by law, JoinNorth is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis for general job-search and recruitment purposes. Nothing excludes a statutory warranty, consumer protection or other right that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

To the extent permitted by law, JoinNorth is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or similar losses relating to use of the Service, inaccurate or expired listings, user interactions, external websites, unauthorized conduct, or employment and recruitment decisions by third parties. This does not limit liability that cannot legally be limited.

You may stop using JoinNorth and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated Terms violations, fraud, security threats, unlawful activity or legal requirements. Terms that should survive termination continue to apply.

We may update these Terms when the Service, business model or legal requirements change. The current version will be published with its latest update date, with additional notice of material changes where required. These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without limiting mandatory rights that apply under another applicable jurisdiction.
