We make tech job search a little less annoying
JoinNorth finds tech jobs directly from employers across Canada, organizes them by seniority, technologies, location and work model, and keeps checking whether they are still open.Because finding a job is already enough work.
Rechercher des emploisCe que nous faisons
Most job boards are very good at showing you jobs.
They are slightly less good at telling you whether those jobs are relevant, still open, actually junior, actually remote, or somehow require eight years of experience in a technology released four years ago.JoinNorth tries to fix that.We scan employer career pages across Canada, find tech openings and organize them into something humans can actually search.Backend. Frontend. Full-stack. Mobile. Data. AI. DevOps. Cybersecurity. QA. Product. Support. Enterprise.
Then we look at things such as: seniority, technologies and skills, location, remote / hybrid / on-site, employer, other useful details hidden somewhere in the job description
Direct from employers
We focus on jobs published by the companies doing the hiring.A vacancy does not have to be manually submitted to JoinNorth first. If a Canadian employer publishes a tech role on its careers site, we want to be able to find it.That means you may discover jobs here that you would otherwise only find by checking hundreds of company career pages.Which sounds like a terrible way to spend a Tuesday. So we do it instead.
Dead jobs should stay dead
One of the things we care about most is keeping the market current.Job boards have a strange habit of keeping vacancies around long after they stop being vacancies.JoinNorth keeps checking the original source. If the employer removes the job, we want it gone from JoinNorth too.No archaeological collection of software engineer openings from six months ago.
Tech jobs need tech filters
“Software Developer” is not particularly useful information on its own.A senior Java backend role and a junior React frontend role are technically both software development jobs, but probably not to the same person. So JoinNorth is built around the way people in tech actually search:
role + seniority + technologies + location + work model
Simple idea. Surprisingly annoying problem.
What we're building
The first goal is straightforward:
Build a useful, current map of the Canadian tech job market
Not the biggest number of listings.
Not hundreds of slightly different pages saying that Toronto has software jobs.
Just a place where you can quickly understand: who is hiring, for what kind of role, at what seniority level, with which technologies, where the job is, whether it is still actually open
We will keep adding employers, improving classification and making the filters more useful as the market grows.
Very glamorous work. Lots of databases. We like it.

We build JoinNorth because we think job search can be simpler, especially when the boring parts are handled by machines.
